Why is there a cost for Charities not based in New Zealand?

Donation Manager is operated by a charitable trust registered in New Zealand – The Donation Manager Charitable Trust. Part of the requirements by the Charities Commission is that we can’t use the donations we have received towards overseas purposes.

This means that overseas charities have to pay their own way, so to speak. Luckily we run on mostly donated infrastructure (Azure and AWS), so this cost is so minimal (NZ$60 per year). We think that still provides fantastic value for money.
